Fluidized/spouting bed dryer/granulator for granular
A dryer/granulator is a high rate vertical vessel for granular products produced from solution, pulp and melt of any moisture. It outperforms other known dryers/granulators by 5 - 7 times in terms of drying rate. Due to process intensity the dryer/granulator processes a small amount of feedstock (1,5 - 3 tons) that results in a low process lag and a short start time (0,5 hrs) together with product residence time to conduct the process in the automatic mode. A short time of monoammoniumphosphate dryer/granulator allows for reduced ammonia losses as well as gas consumption per ton of the end product due to the process intensity. This results in lower exhaust emissions. The high process intensity reduces the amount of construction materials used for its fabrication and investment. Its vertical arrangement saves the floor area. The dryer/granulator is patented in Russia No.2060810, in the USA No.5316735 and in Europe No.0597092. |

For granular ammophos the 10 t/h plant FG3-17NU-01 is accepted by the Interdepartmental Commission to be put into service/ In testing 1500 tons of ammophos was produced. The 20 t/h dryer/granulator FG2,8-35NU-02 was tested with pulp moisture of 30% and a positive result obtained. The advantages of the plant for granular ammophos over fluid bed dryers/granulators, drum, spray/fluid bed and spouting dryers are as follows: due to the heat carrier at 800-1000 °C and velocity of 40 - 50 m/s the intensity of granulation process increases by 5 - 7 times, savings in plant construction materials are several times lower, fuel and power consumption are reduced by 20 - 30% as well as exhaust emissions to the atmosphere are decreased by 30 - 40%. The granule strength as compared with the granule strength produced in drum dryers/granulators has increased by 1.5 - 2 times and dust content of the end product has decreased by several times. The plant is competitive in case of updating, operational and new production processes. Granular calcium chloride produced by the dryer/granulator FG2,8-35NU-03 features granule density and strength, lower caking and can be stored sealed bags for several months. It meets Moscow's requirements for antiacing reagents, in the winter period of 2005-2006 Moscow 20 thous.tons of granular calcium chloride of high grade to GOST 450-77 (with calcium chloride content not less than 90%). in the winter period of 2006-2007 JSC 'Soda' delivered to Moscow 22 thous.tons, in the 2007-2008 - 25 th.t., in the 2009-2010 - 25 th.t. of granular calcium chloride produced by the dryer/granulator FG2,8-35NU-03.
